Sandy Marshall is a freelance medical writer and editor with a strong background in basic science and clinical research. Over the past 10 years, she has co-authored 19 publications and has been acknowledged for her editorial contribution to 33 publications in prestigious international journals (e.g. J Clin Invest and J Am Coll Cardiol).
Sandy completed her BSc(H) in Life Science at Queen’s University and her MSc in the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. She has conducted research at the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science at St. Michael’s Hospital and at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. In 2012, she transitioned from benchwork to medical communications. She does freelance writing and editing for biomedical institutions in Canada, China, and the United States. In addition, Sandy teaches effective scientific communication to researchers and graduate students at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto.
